Congratulations to the University of Huddersfield

All of us at the Festival would like to send our congratulations to Vice-Chancellor Bob Cryan and to the University of Huddersfield for being awarded the top accolade at the Times Higher Education Awards 2013.

Huddersfield picked up the coveted title of University of the Year at a ceremony in London yesterday. It was particularly praised for its committment to being “a university that is at the heart of its home town”.

We are delighted that many of the events at HLF next March will take place at venues within the University and that the Festival will receive some of its funding from the School of Music, Humanities and Media. The hardworking student team make an invaluable contribution to the literature festival and we hope that when people from outside Huddersfield attend our events they will be impressed with what the town and its university have to offer.
