Farewell David Nobbs

It was with great sadness that we learned of the passing (on 8 August) of David Nobbs, author of 20 novels, TV comedy writer for many of the greats and scriptwriter of some wonderful series, including the 1970s series The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin.

David was a wonderfully warm and wittty guest at our Literary Afternoon Tea in March of this year, along with Helen Lederer, and wrote a very kind email afterwards saying how much he'd enjoyed the event. He read from his latest novel, The Second Life of Sally Mottram, and told some very funny stories about his life as a comedy writer.

He will be much missed and our condolences go out to his wife, Susan, and the rest of his family and friends.
